Singer Asanda Jezile is from London. From the Eastern Cape in South Africa, her parents relocated to the UK. The seventh season of Britain’s Got Talent featured her as a finalist, where she came in last. Asanda used “Diamonds” by Rihanna for her Britain’s Got Talent audition.
In the semi-final on May 31, she performed Beyoncé Knowles’ “Halo,” once more impressing the judges and the audience. Alesha Dixon called her “unbelievable,” while Simon Cowell said she possesses the “wow factor.”.
She placed in the top 3, and since Francine Lewis had already advanced to the final, the judges had to decide between her and Alex Keirl for the second spot. Asanda was advanced to the final because Holden chose to support Keirl, but the other three judges chose to support Keirl. Asanda received 19% of the vote, while Alex Keirl received 21%, according to voting data released after the show.
